On July 25, a powerful Category 4 typhoon, officially named Typhoon Emong, caused widespread devastation in San Fernando, La Union, severely damaging homes, properties, and community infrastructure. The Champions Center, a vibrant multipurpose hub serving over 1,000 people and home to a school campus for children and a worship and community events center (The Champions Academy and the San Fernando Christian Community, respectively), sustained critical damage, compromising their safety and ability to provide essential services. Furthermore, at least 10 homes belonging to community members and volunteers were rendered uninhabitable, with families seeking shelter at the very Center now also in need of repair. The community requires immediate assistance to restore safe living conditions and rebuild a crucial center for education and spiritual development.
