Guatemala Aid Fund, partnering with local leaders and engineering volunteers seeks support to construct a permanent clean water system for the Sololá Community Center in Las Minas, Guatemala. In this remote Indigenous Kaqchikel community, 90% of residents suffer from preventable intestinal illness. This project will establish a reliable, treated water supply transforming health outcomes and daily life for more than 500 people.
NEED: Reliance on contaminated water exposes indigenous children and adults to chronic stomach illness. With no treatment infrastructure nearby and mountainous terrain, access to clean water is especially challenging. Without intervention, preventable disease will continue to undermine wellbeing and opportunity.
BENEFITS:
● Community Clean water
● Prevent waterborne illnesses
● Improved school attendance and health
● Creates Jobs
By investing in this project, funders will help bring life‑changing—and lifesaving—clean water access to an Indigenous community.
