In Ecuador, steady, well-paying employment is rare, leaving 1.73 million people underemployed, a crisis that disproportionately affects women and leaves 28% of children under two suffering from chronic malnutrition. At The Cuenca Foundation, we know that to change the future for these children, we must empower the women raising them. Making Change is our next step in breaking the cycle of poverty.
While TCF already supports 1,000 beneficiaries monthly through food security, after-school education, and health workshops, our new vocational initiative will provide women with the practical tools to become skilled employees or entrepreneurs. By training these mothers in food production, business management, and targeted marketing, we are moving beyond temporary aid to create financial independence.
Funds will be used to purchase training materials, industrial kitchen equipment and baking supplies, ensuring that the "change makers" in these families have the resources they need to thrive.
